About me

I graduated with honors from Maria Skłodowska-Curie University in Lublin, where I completed a 5-year full-time course in English studies. I defended an M.A. thesis in the field of American literature entitled “Storytelling and the Storyteller in Contemporary Native American Fiction”. In the meantime I spent a semester at Urbana University, USA as an exchange student, where I took classes in Social Science, Philosophy and American Literature.

After graduation I decided to specialize in the area of legal translation, which led me to enroll in the most prestigious post-graduate translation school in Poland, the School of Translation, Interpreting and Languages at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The education I received there together with the translation experience I have been gaining since 2007 helped me pass the examination for sworn translators and interpreters at the Polish Ministry of Justice. My license number is TP/135/14.

In my everyday work I utilize professional Computer Assisted Translation tools which help me maintain terminological consistency throughout translation projects and quickly deliver high-quality translations to the Client. Trados Studio 2011 is my CAT software of choice, but I am also Across, OmegaT and memoQ literate.

My main areas of specialization are: Law and Contracts, Economy, Finance, Banking, Marketing and the European Union. I also frequently translate HR, Management, Telecommunications and Technical texts.

I do not dabble in translation. I am a full-time professional who gains experience with each translated word, sentence and project. My daily output ranges from 2,000 to 2,500 words. I cooperate with biggest translation agencies in Poland, but if you wish to circumvent their middleman services, I will handle your translation needs with utmost professional care.

I am a member of the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators „TEPIS”.

Please be informed of my new specialization: medical and pharmaceutical translations (post-graduate course at the University of Gdańsk).
